Stick a pin anywhere into a map of the world and you're likely to hit a country (or even a city) where Iňaki Urlezaga has appeared on stage as principal ballet dancer. This world-renowned choreographer and dancer has garnered awards and accolades wherever ballet lovers gather, and that is no small gift. His rich and varied repertoire has earned him the highest acclaim.

Israel is blessed with rich cultural offerings in the arts, yet the visit by the Argentinean company is surely going to be a stellar attraction for both opera and ballet lovers. Verdi's opera "La Traviata" is being presented as an extraordinary ballet by the "Ballet Concierto" dance company, in Tel Aviv. Urlezaga has a rich past in choreography and principal dancer, and this event promises to take a fitting role in his ongoing dance career. He began dancing at age eight in his native Argentina, and has never looked back. He completed several years of professional training, both in Argentina and the USA, so that by 1995 he had joined the Royal Ballet of London, where he remained as Principal Dancer till 2005. He then joined the Dutch National Ballet as Principal Guest Artist. In the meanwhile he has danced with companies around the globe, which helps explain his international perspective and excellent repertoire. Iňaki Urlezaga's first presentation of La Traviata was in 2010. His skill, both as chorographer and dancer, turns each performance into a spectacular event.

The company will appear on stage at the Tel Aviv Center for the Performing Arts (Shaul Hamelech Boulevard), from the 22nd to the 27th of October, each evening at 20:00 (except for Friday 26th when the performance will take place at 13:00). Advance booking (highly advisable) at the box office, or by calling 03-6927700 or 03-6927777.

Ballet lovers are in for a treat.
