It gives us a great pleasure to invite you to a unique concert of the Israel Chamber Orchestra.
The ICO recently returned from a wide concert-tour in 8 countries of Latin America:
Mexico, Costa-Rica, Guatemala, Colombia, Equador, Peru, Argentina and Uruguay.
We would like to dedicate our concerts to those amazing countries and their representatives.

Stick a pin anywhere into a map of the world and you're likely to hit a country (or even a city) where Iňaki Urlezaga has appeared on stage as principal ballet dancer. This world-renowned choreographer and dancer has garnered awards and accolades wherever ballet lovers gather, and that is no small gift. His rich and varied repertoire has earned him the highest acclaim.

Israel is blessed with rich cultural offerings in the arts, yet the visit by the Argentinean company is surely going to be a stellar attraction for both opera and ballet lovers. Verdi's opera "La Traviata" is being presented as an extraordinary ballet by the "Ballet Concierto" dance company, in Tel Aviv.

By the end of October Israel will be honored to host one of France most important musician, Jean-Louis Matinier

Matinier is an accomplished musician well known over Europe, a master of accordion and the most adventurous and open minded virtuoso on his instrument

Matinier will arrive Israel for a special collaboration with Zohar Fresco, the world's master of middle eastern drums as well as with Itamar Erez, Avri Borochov and vocalist Talya G.A Solan.

This special French - Israeli collaboration is kindly supported by the French Embassy, the Romain Gery Jerusalem French institute and the Israeli MFA.

A French Israeli international collaboration with Parisian accordion master, Jean Louis Matinier.
Talya G.A Solan, an Israeli vocalist, and Jean Louis Matinier met in 2010 as part of international jazz collaboration in Rome. That musical encounter led to an artistic friendship from which this uncommon Israeli-French collaboration has grown Matinier brings to the collaboration creativity, sensitivity and an unmistakable spark, while Solan offers beautiful vocals of extraordinary expression, range and sincerity.

An equally impressive virtuoso musicians including Zohar Fresco (percussion), Itamar Erez (guitar) and Avri Borochov (double bass) will joing G.A and Matinier for three magical concerts of original music and Israeli poems of love.

Israel’s Minister of Education Gideon Sa'ar and German Federal Minister of Education and Research Dr. Annette SchavanJerusalem, October 17, 2012 — Germany's Federal Minister of Education and Research announced today that her country will contribute 10 million euros in the coming year to the endowment fund that supports the Minerva Centers, at the opening of the first Minerva German-Israeli Science Festival at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The festival, which showcases the accomplishments of Minerva Centers and presents new Centers to the public, is produced with the assistance of the Hebrew University's Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace.

A subsidiary of the Max Planck Association, the Minerva Foundation was the first agency established on behalf of the Federal German Ministry of Education and Research with the sole purpose of funding high-quality research in Israel and stimulating cooperation among research partners in the two countries. The Foundation has established 30 centers in Israeli universities, where both German and Israeli scientists work together in all fields of research.
