The Republic of Kazakhstan held a gala evening on December 5, 2017, to mark the occasion of 26 years of the country’s independence at the beautiful residence of the Kazakh Ambassador to Israel, H.E. Mr. Doulat Kuanyeshev and his wife Gulmira. The evening was attended by Minister of Immigrant Absorption Sofa Landver representing the State of Israel.
The evening began with the playing of the national anthems of Kazakhstan and Israel by a Brass Ensemble from Jerusalem conducted by Professor Gersh Geller, a Kazakh native who was previously a member of the faculty of the Kazakh State Conservatory in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

On behalf of the government and people of Israel, the minister extended best wishes to President Nursultan Nazarbayev and the people of Kazakhstan on the anniversary of their country’s independence.
Following the speeches and celebratory toast, guests were treated to a lavish buffet featuring delicacies from Kazakhstan, including red and black caviar, baursak bread, dumplings, rice palau, and Kazakh vodka.
