Ambassador Shapiro to Lead Delegation of Israeli Companies to SelectUSA Investment Summit

Summit represents unique opportunity for Israeli businesses to expand into the U.S. market

TEL AVIV – U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro will again lead a delegation of Israeli companies to the third annual SelectUSA Investment Summit, to be held in Washington DC, June 19-21, 2016.

The theme of this year’s Summit is “The Innovation Advantage,” and will give companies the opportunity to enrich their knowledge, learning the basics of investment and promotion in the United States.

“I am excited to be part of the 2016 SelectUSA Summit,” said Ambassador Shapiro. “The Summit represents an outstanding opportunity for Israeli companies looking to establish or expand their presence in the United States. They will find investment opportunities in all 50 states at their fingertips.”

This year’s Summit follows the unprecedented success of last year’s conference, which brought together thousands of participants from 70 countries.

“The Summit gave us the perfect opportunity to engage with representatives from U.S. economic development organizations and government leaders, and gave us invaluable information in determining our investment strategy,” said Itay Tayas Zamir, CEO and Co-Founder of Woosh, an innovative Israeli smart water station service company. Woosh attended last year’s Summit and has recently launched its eco-friendly water stations in Dayton, Ohio, and signed an agreement to deploy a city-wide network of water stations with the city of Miami Beach last month.

During the conference participants will have direct access to business and economic development bodies and representatives from across the United States.

“Mutual investment by Israeli and American companies does so much for both of our economies,” said Ofra Strauss, Chairperson of Strauss Group, who attended and spoke at last year’s conference. “This Summit plays a huge part in bringing the right people together so that everyone succeeds.”
