The bilateral relationship between the two countries is continuously growing in many areas of cooperation. Bilateral trade volume currently stands at US$ 600 million, and expectations are that this sum will increase further in the near future.

(Communicated by the MFA Spokesperson)

On 1 July 2012, Israel and Mexico marked 60 years of diplomatic relations. Various events will be staged in both countries during the commemoration year. Among the events, on 2nd July the Mexican Orquesta de Cámara de Bellas Artes will stage a gala concert together with well-known Israeli musicians.

The bilateral relationship between the two countries is continuously growing in many areas of cooperation. The two countries' consultation mechanism has strengthened in recent years, a fact that facilitated the tightening of the political dialogue and political understanding. The free trade agreement between the two countries, which helps promote both trade relations and investments, came into force 12 years ago. Bilateral trade volume currently stands at US$ 600 million, and expectations are that this sum will increase further in the near future.

Over the years, through courses and expert exchange programs, Israel has created mutual cooperation by sharing its accumulated academic-technological knowledge and experience with Mexico, with special emphasis on the fields of agriculture, water treatment and high-tech.

The two countries cooperate on the cultural level as well. This cooperation is based on the fact that while both Mexico and Israel are modern countries with modern societies, their collective identity is based on civilization dating back thousands of years.
