Tourism Minister Stas Miszhnikov: “It would appear that the effects of Operation Pillar of Defense and the worsening geopolitical situation in the region are reverberating on incoming tourism. As a result, the ministry has begun the year 2013 with intensive marketing activities to realize Israel’s tourism potential by accelerating the implementation of the recommendations from the Committee to Reduce Vacation Costs, the grading of hotels and by emphasizing an improvement in professional training within the industry.”

















A special delegation of senior representatives of Korea Tourism organization will arrive in Israel in the next few days, to attend The International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM), opening February 5th, 2013 in Tel Aviv, in order to strengthen the ties between the two countries, and encourage tourist traffic

 

Tourism Ministry Director-General Noaz Bar-Nir was named 2012 Man of the Year in Tourism  today (Tuesday) at IMTM – the International Mediterranean Tourism Market for his role as chairman of the Committee to Reduce the Cost of Vacation Packages in Israel, which Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov established. Bar-Nir said that he was pleased that the industry appreciates the work of the Tourism Ministry. 

 “THE TOURISM MINISTRY IS SPEARHEADING A PROGRAM WHOSE GOAL IS TO INCREASE INCOMING TOURISM TO THE DEAD SEA AREA FROM 25% TO AT LEAST 50%” – THIS ACCORDING TO TOURISM MINISTRY SENIOR DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL, INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT AND INVESTMENTS ERAN NITZAN. “75% of all tourists at the Dead Sea currently are Israelis, with only 25% coming from overseas.
