The city of Ashdod is pleased to announce its 2017 People and Flavors Festival, to be held Wednesday and Thursday evenings, September 13-14, in Nahal Lakhish Park.
The festival will feature booths serving 40 ethnic dishes from around the world, prepared by 25 local chefs and restaurants. Entrance to the festival is free of charge, and the price for food will be only NIS 10 per serving.
The festival starts each evening at 19.00.
The festival will also mark the launch of the book "Ashdod, City of Flavors" by Michael Shihrur. In addition, there will be a photographic exhibition, “Ashdod by Night.”
Among the notable restaurants participating in the festival will be Namaste, which specializes in food from North India; and Vino del Mar, a kosher restaurant on the northern beach of Ashdod that evokes the atmosphere of Catalonia, serving fine wine, creative cocktails, authentic tapas and many more tastes of Spain.
Visitors to the festival will have the opportunity to experience Segway tours, operated by Segs, a national company.
During the days, the city’s unique Museum of Philistine Culture will be open to the public.
Ashdod is also home to Jonah's Hill, said to be the burial place of the Prophet Jonah.
Visitors wishing to stay overnight will be happy to learn that Ashdod is home to a prestigious Leonardo Plaza Hotel.
