About the Project: Once I Was A House
Moments before its demolition, a luxurious villa on the dunes in Caesarea has been transformed into a masterpiece, and all in the name of a good cause. This is an open house of fun, music, drinks and art.
Once I Was A House is the unveiling of a home destined for demolition through the eyes of over 80 artists. This innovative project portrays the transformation of an everyday object into a piece of art by stripping it of its predetermined purpose and redefining it not only as a platform for creation but also materials and shapes with which to create.
Proceeds from all sales of the works will be divided between the artists and two wonderful charities, Misholim in Jerusalem and the HaLev Project in south Tel Aviv Our goal is to create a collaboration between artists, benefactors and art lovers and to encourage children to initiate new beginnings.
Take in the concept, come witness the transformation, and be a part of this once in a lifetime event. Check the video at: http://vimeo.com/56067417
About the Organization: Tel Aviv Arts Council
The Tel Aviv Arts Council celebrates the creative culture of Tel Aviv by providing a venue for young professional creatives and lovers of the arts to gather while attending lectures and demonstrations by world class artists, performers, and technologists.
The common theme in our events is a playful exploration of the world around us and the search for something unique that expands our vistas and leaves one with a sense of wonder. All of our private events are non-profit, but professionally produced to provide attendees with a comfortable environment to engage with the arts community, and take place in various venues throughout our great city.
