The television sitcom "Avoda Aravit >" ("Arab Labor") won the trophies for Best Comedy, Best Lead Actor in a Comedy and Best Lead Actress in a Comedy, as well as awards for directing and screenplay at the annual Israeli Academy of Film and Television Awards held this past Friday, 11 January 2013
"Avoda Ivrit," which has been written up in The New York Times (among others), was the first primetime Israeli television to depict Arabic-speaking main characters and takes a humorous look at Israeli society, especially the cultural divide between Israeli Arabs and Jews.
