Last week in Tel Aviv the Lithuanian Tourism Board in collaboration with the Embassy of Lithuania to the State of Israel hosted a promotional evening entitled "Amazing Lithuania Awaits the Israeli Tourist" which was patronized by the Lithuanian Ambassador H.E. Mr Andrius Bruzga, the Lithuanian Tourism Board's Senior Director Mr. Indre Slyziute - Rimkaite, the Embassy of Lithuania's Commercial Attache Ms. Donata Mauricaite and a delegation of 10 tourism professionals which included tour wholesalers, hoteliers, representatives of spa resorts and other attractions who flew to Israel especially for this event.
 
In 2025 Vilnius was nominated as Europe's Green Capital and Lithuania voted as the country having the happiest young people.
 
Presently for Israelis Lithuania is one of the most accessible countries to visit as Israir and Overseas offer direct flights to both Vinuis and Kaunas.in addition to flights offered by Wizzair and Ryanair.
 
For young people visiting Lithuania's cities offer a vibrant nightlife including clubs, bars and concerts in addition to spectacular nature, lakes and the sea. Health tourism including a diversity of spas are also not in shortage. Jewish culture and heritage, especially in Vilnius, is abundant with many historical attractions. 
 
 
 
Lithuania is a safe destination and Israelis feel welcome and secure as a result of the Lithuanian government's positive relationship with Israel. It is also a country which is affordable for Israelis and the close location of the country's two cities is another convenience for visitors. 
 
Recently Lithuania has received recognition and achievements in tourism and in gastronomic cuisine hosting 26 restaurants listed in Guide Michelin and four restaurants have been awarded a Michelin star including Bib Gourmand for quality meals at affordable prices and Green Star for sustainability.     
 
At Berlin's prestigious International Tourism exposition, Lithuania was voted as the most favourable destination in the category of "Best Spa and Wellness Destinations in the World". 
 
The city of Vilnius, due to its commitment to sustainability, having 60% of its area covered in parks and forests and a leader using green transportation systems and renewable energy was recognized as the European Green Capital.
 
In 2024 Lithuania took first place in the World Happiness Report for Young People due to its commitment in improving the quality of life for the younger generation . In Vilnius, the country's historic capital city, there is an array of attractions which includes culture and music as well as career opportunities coupled with a dynamic lifestyle. Many young travellers from around the world are now visiting Lithuania as in recent years it has become an attractive destination due to the country creating and supporting a vibrant environment.
 
Unesco World heritage sites include's Vilnius's Historic Old Town, the Curonian Spit National Park located adjacent to the Baltic Sea and the Hill of Crosses, an unusual pilgrimage site located in northern Lithuania.      
 
In conclusion the Lonely Planet guide rated Lithuania as the second most recommended destination in the world and the first most recommended destination in Europe. Lithuania Is Worth A Visit !
