139 attacks as opposed to 125 in March. The main increase is noted in the number of attacks originating in the Gaza Strip: 12 attacks in April as opposed to three in March. Two rockets were launched from Sinai toward Eilat, while in March no attacks were executed from Sinai.

The rise in the number of attacks was also noted in Jerusalem: 36 attacks as opposed to 21 in March. In Judea and Samaria, on the other hand, there was a decrease in the number of attacks: 90 attacks as opposed to 101 attacks in March.

 

One Israeli was killed (April 30) in a stabbing attack at Tapuah Junction (Samaria). The perpetrator, a Palestinian, resident of Shuka, Tul Karem, stabbed the Israeli, and then kidnapped his weapon and opened fire on IDF solders; there were no other casualties.

 

 

 

Data regarding terror attacks in April 2013

Following is a regional distribution of attacks:

 

12 attack from the Gaza Strip (3 in March); 90 attacks in the Judea and Samaria (101 in March); 36 attacks in Jerusalem (21 in March); 1 attack from Sinai (none in March).

 

Jerusalem and the Judea and Samaria area: Most attacks executed in April (99 out of 126) were in the form of firebombs (March: 94 out of 122).

Following is a distribution of attacks in April 2013 according to regions:

 

The Gaza Strip – 12 attacks: 7 rocket launchings; 3 mortar shell launchings; 1 small arms shooting; 1 IED. 
 
Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem – 126 attacks: 26 IED; 1 stabbing (combined with small arms shooting); 99 firebombs (31 in Jerusalem).

 

Sinai – 1 attack: rocket launchings.

 

 

High-trajectory launchings from Gaza Strip and Sinai 
Throughout April 2013 17 rockets were launched towards Israel (2 from Sinai towards Eilat) and 5 mortar shell (in 13 attacks), as opposed to 14 rockets (in one salvo), that were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel in March.
