The activity of the public diplomacy operations center – under the unified message that Israel is under fire – is in coordination with the other public diplomacy agencies, including the National Information Directorate, the Foreign Ministry and the IDF Spokesperson's Office and is aimed at coordinating public diplomacy efforts by enlisting a reservoir of 25,000 activists who have been trained by the Ministry. The center has – via social media and the Internet – appealed to citizens under threat to send materials from the field and to assist in circulating messages on the Internet. The center has received hundreds of contacts, including offers from companies and organizations to assist in establishing independent media and information centers in dozens of countries and in various languages. The Ministry thus intends to encourage and initiate public diplomacy campaigns in dozens of countries and over the Internet with messages, photographs, video clips and additional information in various languages.
Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Minister Yuli Edelstein has written to the leaders of Jewish organizations around the world and called on them to cooperate in the activity of the public diplomacy operations center: "Israel is again under an intolerable missile threat that endangers over one million citizens, including adults and children. I ask you to work to the best of your abilities, to be in contact and to assist us in bringing this harsh reality to the world."Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Minister Edelstein said, "We opened the special center to ensure effective coordination among the various Government and civilian elements. We are here to bring to the world the intolerable reality of the residents of the south, through postings on Facebook, Tweets and video clips in order to make clear the necessity for the military operations against Hamas and the [other] terrorist organizations."
