Betina Schnaid

In Chelsea Old Tawn Hall, a Victorian wonderful building, ended yesterday the 2013 London Biennale of Art. Selected works from 140 countries, from Japan to Brazil and China to Lativa, Israel was present and was represented by an Olah Chadasha: Betina Schnaid.

A recognized group of curators from Europe chose the paintings and sculptures of abstract, figurative and conceptual art done by 40 artists, who filled the elegant and traditional Palace from January 23rd to 26th.

A charity auction occurred in the inaugural party, raising a sum greater than £ 100,000 for Rotary International's End Polio and Salvation Army's Chelsea Branch. The Mayor of London and representatives of leading local art galleries presented the auction ranging originals from Andy Wahol to Giorgio Armani drawings.

Betina Schnaid’s paint showed was an acrylic on canvas of her series called Dance. She had work on this theme when she used to spend her "rafsaka" watching the students of the ballet school located on the ground floor of which Ulpan she learned in Jerusalem.

With bright colors and a silent symmetry, the Betina Schnaid’s artwork has a joy that comes from Brazil, has her day by day from Israel and a black outline that appears in all his paintings and shows the influences coming from her experience in Spain, where she had her university studies.

Betina returns from London with invitations from galleries in Europe and North America, in addition to receiving a tribute of "Honorable Mention for Artistic Merit from the 2013 London Biennale of Art". But anyone who talks to her, will get the only one answer: his greatest pride and joy was to go to an event like this in name of ISRAEL!
