Toronto, Canada – Sunday March 3, 2013. - A large representative group of thirteen (13) editors and assigned faith based journalists representing the Canadian Church Press Association (“CCP”) depart for The Holy Land on Sunday March 3rd 2013 for a weeklong Journey of Discovery. Most notable for twelve of the thirteen this will be a first time visit to The Holy Land.
In July 2012 it was announced at the Canadian Church Press Association’s (“CCP”) National Conference that took place in Toronto, there would be a group Press Trip to Israel in early 2013. Mr. Ian Adnams, Vice President of the CCP and Mr. Jerry Adler, PR and Communications Director for the Israel Government Tourist Office- Canada made the joint announcement as an open opportunity for all CCP member publications to join this historic group trip.
The group is expected to visit all the important Christian sites and other touristic sites such as: the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Mount of Beatitudes, Boat tour of the Sea of Galilee, the Banias, Caesarea, Agamon Ha'Hula, Massada, the Dead Sea, Bethlehem, Qaser el–Yahud, and of course the holly sites in Jerusalem which includes the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, a Tour of the Old City of Jerusalem, the Via Dolorosa and more.
The Canadian Church Press (CCP), an association of publications that offers fellowship and support to its members from many Christian denominations, united in an effort to maintain high standards of religious journalism. The CCP is one of the most active and broadly based ecumenical organizations in Canada.
