President Shimon Peres and the Secretary-General of the OECD presented a plan to create an economic organization made up of global companies and world leaders for investment in the Middle East
The Secretary-General of the OECD to President Peres:
"Israel has become an important contributor to the OECD’s work. Its knowledge on key areas for the viability of our economies, like water management, “clean-techs” and entrepreneurship, is becoming a source of best practices."
President Peres to the Secretary-General of the OECD:
"Israel will continue to share the knowledge it has gained in the fields of technology, renewable energy and agriculture and continue to lead, within the OECD, new international initiatives which will provide solutions for the Middle East and developing countries."

The President of the State of Israel, President Shimon Peres, met this evening with the former Assistant Secretary of Defense of the United States Mr. Lawrence Korb, Esther Pollard, wife of Jonathan Pollard, and the heads of the Committee to Free Jonathan Pollard at his residence in Jerusalem. President Peres began the meeting by stressing the importance of the efforts and cooperation on behalf of all those working for the freedom of Jonathan Pollard and said, "We all want Jonathan to be freed, in all my previous meetings with President Obama I raised the issue and I sent a special letter requesting that Jonathan Pollard be released on humanitarian grounds. I intend to raise this important issue again in my meeting with President Obama during his visit here in Israel."
