KNESSET EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SPORTS COMMITTEE: HOTEL GYMS NO LONGER HAVE TO EMPLOY FITNESS TRAINERS. THIS ON CONDITION THAT THE HOTEL GYM IS FOR THE USE OF HOTEL GUESTS ONLY AND IS NOT USED BY MINORS.

 TOURISM MINISTRY DIRECTOR-GENERAL TO THE FINANCE COMMITTEE:  WITHIN A FEW MONTHS,
A COMPANY WILL BE CHOSEN TO BEGIN RANKING HOTELS IN EARLY 2014.

The Tourism Ministry Director-General Amir Halevy said today (18 June) in a discussion on hotel ranking
in the Knesset Finance Committee that “the ministry is determined to implement the hotel rankings scheme in Israel.
The ministry will complete its investigations and discussions related to updating the tender and improving
the threshold conditions by the end of the month, and will publish a new tender. Within a few months, a company
will be chosen to start the hotel ranking at the beginning of 2014.”

 MARKET ABOUT ONE THIRD OF ALL AMERICAN TOURISTS COMING TO ISRAEL COME FROM THE NEW YORK AREA

 TOURISM MINISTER DR. UZI LANDAU: “For years, the United States has been the largest source country for incoming tourists. We attach great importance to the role of tourism in maintaining close bi-lateral relations and we will continue to work towards increasing the numbers of American tourists to Israel. Israel is a cradle of culture, history and religion and I am sure that every American tourist will find in Israel a source of inspiration.”

In the margins of the EU Transport Council in Luxembourg, the European Union and Israel have today signed a comprehensive air transport agreement which will gradually open up and integrate the respective markets, develop an aviation area with common rules, offer economic benefits for consumers and new opportunities for the industry.




















During the days 20, 21 and May 23 the Panama Embassy participated in Tourism seminars held in Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv organized by Polaris Group. The seminars main objective was to present travel agents 3 destinations in America: Ecuador, Peru and Panama. Ambassador Hector Aparicio opened the presentation with a speech and the rest of the presentation was translated in Hebrew.

There was an approximate participation of 212 travel agents being Tel Aviv the city with major participation.

It was observed that Ecuador is a known destination and Peru is realizing the same path. Panama is considered an exotic destination and there are  possibilities of multi destinations with Colombia.
